USDA Forest Service Awards WBD $25M Blanket Purchase Agreement

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Forest Service awarded Washington Business Dynamics (WBD) a $25M blanket purchase agreement (BPA) that offers the unique opportunity to optimize the agency’s acquisition practices as well as deliver robust leasing and grants management support services.
As the firm’s first USDA contract, it grants WBD the opportunity to revamp USDA Forest Service’s acquisitions framework to ultimately ensure the agency succeeds in its mission to “sustain forests and grasslands for present and future generations.” WBD is prepared to provide best-in-class acquisitions services and institute procurement innovations that modernize and streamline the organization’s current practices. Our efforts will directly impact resource base restorations, ensure good land management and prevent environmental damage via strategic planning, contractual consolidations and acquisitions of key resources, expert labor and technology.
Under USDA’s Acquisition Mission Area Consolidation (AMAC) Project, the agency seeks to consolidate its decentralized acquisitions offices into eight higher-level mission areas. WBD will collaborate with Forest Service government subject matter experts to lead USDA’s “Natural Resources and Environment” mission area reorganization. While the mission at hand is complex, WBD has staunch experience propelling federal organizations through large-scale transformations. Notably, at the Department of Defense’s Joint Service Provider (JSP), our team spearheaded contractual consolidations as well as enterprise-wide executive strategic planning.
When asked about the significance of this new contract with USDA, WBD President Scott Caldwell said, “we are excited to team up with USDA and take the agency to the next level. We will leverage our procurement expertise, emerging technologies, and the institutional knowledge gained through our current contract portfolio to elevate the Forest Service’s ability to protect the health and diversity of our Nation’s natural assets
The USDA Forest Service BPA adds to the breadth and depth of WBD’s client base, which currently includes multiple Department of Defense clients, the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), and the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), among others.
