Veterans Health Administration Awards WBD Contract on Emerging Healthcare Solutions and Technologies
October 28, 2021
WBD is pleased to announce the award of a contract with the Veterans Health Administration (VHA) to support innovation, focusing on emerging healthcare solutions and technologies. WBD will provide project management, strategic communications and stakeholder engagement support to VHA’s Office of Healthcare Innovation and Learning (OHIL) and VHA’s Innovation Ecosystem as it partners with VHA to execute portfolio objectives, facilitate engagement, create trainings, and plan events that promote healthcare innovation. “As a service-disabled veteran-owned small business (SDVOSB), we’re thrilled to support the entire innovation ecosystem,” said Scott Caldwell, WBD co-founder and President. “Our team’s programmatic support will ultimately improve the quality of health care for our nation’s Veterans and be critical in generating future best practices.”
This award is WBD’s first contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs and as a SDVOSB, the work that the VA and VHA does is an important focal point for the growth and expansion of the firm. WBD’s current portfolio spans the Department of Defense, Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID), Millennium Challenge Corporation and more.
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Veterans Health Administration (VHA) Office of Healthcare Innovation and Learning (OHIL) is under the VHA Office of Discovery, Education, and Affiliate Networks (DEAN) and leads healthcare innovation and learning within VHA. The VHA Innovation Ecosystem (IE) is the catalyst for enabling the discovery and spread of mission-driven health care innovation to advance care delivery. A VHA “innovation” is defined as a program, process or tool designed and implemented within VA that brings a unique value toward addressing a clinical, operational or strategic problem.
